About this opportunity
The Well Connected program is designed to work with participants who experience severe mental illness or concerns, to address key areas that support them to participate in their communities. A key outcome will be supporting the participant to identify and nurture natural supports that sustain recovery and assist in the development of self-management skills.
The program will work closely with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community and persons who are 65 years and older and who experience severe mental illness or concerns.
You will need relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in a support role for people with a mental illness, generally a Certificate IV qualification or above. You will need a current and valid Driver's License and are able to undertake travel. You will also need a satisfactory Police Records Check and Working with Children Check.
Desirable but not essential: previous experience working within Aboriginal/Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and/or understanding of Aboriginal/CALD communities, both socially and culturally. Experience working with older people will also be looked on favorably.
