Casual Support Workers - SIL

About this opportunity

Wellways Australia is going through exciting transformation and growth. We need female Support Workers to join our Toowoomba team to work with our SIL clients. As a SIL Support Worker, you will deliver a variety of services to the participants who receive 24/7 supervision in their home. The support provided will allow them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life and work will include:

  • Personal care
  • Domestic activities
  • Varying skills development activities
  • Social participation
  • 8-hour day and night shifts

About you

To be successful you will need a Certificate 3 or 4 in Mental Health and or Disability / Aged Care / Home / Community Care experience. Also, necessary is that you have a current Driver's Licence and registered vehicle (including insurance). A satisfactory Police Record Check as well as Blue Card (Working with Children) and Yellow Card (Working with Disability) or willingness to obtain, are a must. Note, it is advantageous if the applicant also has a background in hoisting, peg feeding and challenging behaviour.

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has released an online module for NDIS workers called ‘Quality, Safety and You' this assist all NDIS workers to better support people with disability.

This on line module must be completed by all new Wellways employees before commencement, or certificate of completion attached to the application.
